Life Update: Guess What Covid Made Us Do?!

(first day of school cake is one of our favorite traditions but extra special in our home!)

Well hey there!

Big, old apology for the radio silence but it's been a crazy busy few weeks.

So much has changed after we left NYC over a year and a half ago. We moved 6 times into Airbnb's + 1 more time when we hired movers to pack up our NYC apartment and move everything into a storage unit. And all in between we went through some really big feelings, we missed friends, we missed family, we missed our old routine and nervous about not really having a plan. All of these changes during a pandemic was just plain old HARD.

It took me a really long time to be able to admit the intense amount of fear and anxiety that being a parent through a pandemic has caused me. Some can say, F IT, but we have not had that luxury. And it brought on a paralyzing fear that I can never truly put into words.

In the end we made the decision that was best for our family and started easing into the home buying market during a very competitive time. We trusted our gut and had our hearts broken by a few properties but in the end we bought a house. Did you hear that?? Yup me, weeping in gratitude and exhaustion...

We BOUGHT a house. Our house. One we have been unpacking in, meeting neighbors in, and slowing making a home. We have had so much temporary in the last few years and there is something incredible about the sense of calm that only something more permanent can bring. This may not be our forever home, and maybe not completely permanently here because as we all know everything can change in a blink of an eye but dang it feels good to unpack our own stuff, our own photos, shoot even the plates I hated feel good in my hands!

I have so much to share, and I will soon, but for now I just wanted to say that Covid made us move back home to Massachusetts and my heart could not be happier. So be prepared for a whole lot of home content! But first I'll share a back to school post and a round up of sales later this weekend.

Remember to take time for yourself, slow down and do things that bring you joy and to drink water.
