Hello my darlings, what an insanely cold week it has been!! Trying my hardest, to keep it chic during these cold months and it's happening (at least a couple times a week) with the help of layers.
I wore this outfit to a baby shower for my cousin and his wife who are expecting twins!!!! The weather was horrid. Horrid. Horrid. So I snapped these this week and it got me thinking about getting dressed in the winter, so hard to do but helps me get through the gloomy weather. Don't get me wrong, most days are spent in yoga pants and any loose comfy top that happens to be clean but once in a while you have to throw on a little something and feel dressed up.
The dress is so old I am embarrassed to admit how old it actually is, worse would be that I don't even remember the last time I actually fit into it... lol or perhaps I remember the exact day (long long ago) that it fit.... But it's a favorite. The long sleeves and bright floral print make me happy. Throw on an open cardigan, leather leggings because that length is a tad short for this mama and some over the knee boots, all to get through the cold New England day. The hat covered the hair that had been sprayed in an obscene amount of dry shampoo and bangs I am considering growing out. All that and you have yourself a pretty ok outfit, but best of all I felt put together, on a gross wet and cold day, which is a win in my book.
Lesson in this outfit: leather leggings are a perfect swap for tights on wintery days, a black open cardigan is your investment for covering le bum and layering up without looking bulky and a hat cures all hair ailments.
